I've been nudged to update, and I see it has been a very long time since I've written anything here. Really, not a whole lot going on, which always makes for a lack of updates. Hard at work on a brand new screenplay, which I think could be a good one. Honestly, this is the most excited about a new screenplay I've been in quite some time. It's kind of a science fiction noir murder mystery, but not real heavy on the science fiction. We're also in the market for a new agent, and starting to meet with people. We've been kind of lazy with our careers this year, but we're finally getting a fire lit under our asses and pursuing things.
Was dating someone new very, very briefly, but it doesn't look like it's going to work out. Oh well. These things happen.
I can't log into myspace without immediately getting 10-12 friend requests from hot young women who saw my profile and thought I looked interesting. Oh, they also want me to visit their website and check out their photos. Yeah, right. Is anyone really that stupid? Do people fall for that? It's getting very annoying. I'm wondering if switching my tag to 'in a relationship', even though that's a lie, might help some, if these spammers are only targeting single guys. Dunno. But it's very annoying.
In gaming news, that will mean nothing to those of you who don't play Warcraft, I finally completed the 45-minute Baron run last night. It was quite a rush, as I honestly never thought a video game could bring, but it really was a tremendous sense of accomplishment. I'd say this was about... oh, our 9th or 10th attempt, and we've been getting better and better, but this run was flawless. We engaged the Baron with 5 minutes to spare. Those of you who don't play (and maybe some of you who do) will probably laugh, but it really was a hell of a rush.
Hey, anyone wanna go see The Pogues? They're playing at the Wiltern October 17,18, and 19th.

Date: 2006-07-31 05:14 pm (UTC)This was on your rogue, right? What was the class composition? Did you use the published strategies on pulls? Did you guys have a lock and do the mob train and planned wipe inside the Slaughterhouse to avoid having to kill the last of the ghouls past Maleki? 5 minutes is pretty great. I'm impressed.
I know what you mean about getting excited, though. I finally got Benediction on my priest, and finishing the quest (not to mention jumping through myriad hoops to get to join a MC-farming guild to go to Domo) was a real rush. Almost as excited as my first Lucifron kill (but I cried at THAT one).

Date: 2006-07-31 05:35 pm (UTC)No, the rogue hasn't been my main for quite some time. He was my first character, and since he's alliance, doesn't get much play anymore. This was on my main for some time now, my priest. The group was me, 2 rogues, a warrior, and a mage. One of the rogues (my writing partner actually, Drew) had already completed it once, so he had the upgraded .5, but the rest of us had nothing better than that.
I've seen a few differing pull strategies. The direction we went was Baroness -> Spider -> Maleki, skipping all the obvious groups. This map: http://www.wowwiki.com/images/5/5a/Baron45.jpg I've seen a lot of people suggest the priest pull, but we were using the warrior; he'd pull the next mob/group when the one we were working on was at about 25%. No, we did not use the wipe/run method. I'd say there was some luck involved; the gargoyles were very well behaved, and the Baroness only MCed twice, and when she did, it was us squishies, so it didn't last very long.
Most of the other times we tried it, we had all sorts of potions and flasks (I can make the Flask of the Titans, so I made for the tank when I could), but this was an impromptu attempt, and we had very little. Certainly no flasks. I had a stack of major mana and healing, but I only ended up needing to use one of the mana. Lots of bandaging, of course. I think we've just gotten used to working as a team, and had everything fall into place on this particular run.
Congrats on the Benediction! Oh man, do I want that! Congrats also on Lucifron. We're still only on ZG as a guild.
Love that userpic, by the way. Zesty!
